Victoria iii leak7/1/2023 And honestly, it actually feels better than Victoria 2. Judging from the alpha, it would seem that the tactical military aspect of the game is mainly about playing around encirclements and intentional front-splitting, trying to bait your opponents into them, while simultaneously avoiding them yourself. Mindgames aside, the main culprit here is encirclements, and how the readily the game enables and encourages them. In case y'all are not aware, the leaked build combat system is set up so that a player with proper micro can punch way above their level. But I also wanted to wait until I could actually try it in-game. There were lots of people dissatisfied by changes to the combat system. Right now it feels like all its doing is providing ammunition for those who disliked some design decisions which may or may not be final (like war, trade, economic management, etc.) to claim that they were right all along, again, not having played a game, but beta tested it. Not saying anyone who plays the final version would love it, or even that they wouldn't have similar complaints to what they have for the leak, but at least they'd be putting their opinion on a version that the dev team has stamped with their final OK. It's kind of sad that some people will try the leaked build and decide the finished game is not for them, without ever having tried it. Even tiny UI/UX tweaks can have a major impact on whether a game feature is fun or not - on a build where significant things don't work, you're really not playing the game, you're beta testing. That was my main thought reading all the complaints about the leaked build: it's unfinished in a way that really does not let you experience it as a whole.
